Welcome to Ganden Mahayana Kadampa Buddhist Center

About Ganden Center

Ganden Mahayana Kadampa Buddhist Center of Columbia, SC, is a non-profit Buddhist meditation center whose aim is to introduce meditation and practical Buddhist teachings in order to help others solve their daily problems and cultivate inner peace.  Ganden offers teachings for all levels of interest; you do not have to be Buddhist to benefit from the Center's teachings and meditation classes.  Learn more about our classes by clicking here.

Weekly Classes for Beginners on Buddhism and Meditation

We currently offer many weekly classes on meditation and other topics in Columbia and throughout South Carolina.  To support the Center, which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we request a class fee of $4 - $10 for weekly classes, depending upon the class being offered.  Alternatively, support the Center and attend all the classes you like by becoming a Monthly Member.

Workshops, Meditation Retreats, and Special Events

We also offer occasional one-day courses to help students gain more familiarity with one particular topic.  Past topics have included meditation for beginners, improving relationships, and overcoming anger. Click here to learn more about our special events.

Group Meditations and Chanted Prayers

Drop by in the mornings to enjoy chanted prayers and silent meditation, or join us for weekly and monthly chanted prayer practices.  All prayers are in English, and many are suitable for beginners.  Click here to learn more about regular meditations and chanted prayers.
