Teachers of Buddhism and Meditation Classes Throughout South Carolina

All the teachers of Ganden Mahayana Buddhist Center use the teachings and books of Ven. Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, a modern-day Buddhist master who founded our tradition in the late 1970s.  To read more about Geshe Kelsang, click here.

Our Resident Teacher is American Buddhist nun, Gen Kelsang Nyema.  All the teachers listed below study on the Foundation Program study class with Gen Nyema twice per week.  To read more about Gen Kelsang Nyema, click here.

Our Teachers & Center Managers

Kris Dennis Kris Dennis teaches in Aiken and has studied and practiced Kadampa Buddhism since 2002.
Dorothy Stafford Dorothy Stafford is Ganden Center’s Treasurer.  An office manager and mother of two grown daughters, Dorothy has studied and practiced Kadampa Buddhism since 2009.
Frances McLeod Frances McLeod recently moved to Charleston from Columbia.  While in Columbia, she served as Ganden’s Education Program Coordinator and previously taught in Sumter, SC.  Frances teaches in Charleston and has been studying Kadampa Buddhism since 2002.
Mark Gould Mark Gould is teaches both at Ganden Center and in cities around South Carolina.  Mark previously served as Ganden’s Education Program Coordinator, and he has been studying at Ganden since 2002.
Fer Fraser Jennifer (“Fer”) Fraser is Ganden Center’s Administrative Director and has been studying and practicing Kadampa Buddhism since 2009.
