Buddha Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Compassion
Compassion is a joyful mind with the power to free living beings from suffering. Without a correct understanding of compassion, we may feel hopeless in the face of our own or others’ pain and problems. However, as we come to know Buddha Avalokiteshvara and receive his blessings, we can learn, in our own experience, that the mind of compassion brings joyful energy, meaning and purpose to our lives. And this joyful energy has power, the actual power to liberate ourself and others.
“Who is Avalokiteshvara? Avalokiteshvara is an enlightened being who is the manifestation of the compassion of all Buddhas; the compassion of all Buddhas appears as Avalokiteshvara. He is the synthesis of all Buddhas.” — The Mirror of Dharma, by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
Kelsang Jangchen will explain simple yet profound meditation practices to help us draw close to Buddha Avalokiteshvara and receive his blessings, so that we can feel energized and inspired to live a joyfully life of great meaning and benefit.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
