Cleansing the Past: How to Purify Negative Karma

Teachings and meditations for everyone with our Resident Teacher, modern Buddhist monk Gen Kelsang Tabkay

Friday, January 1, 7:00 – 8:00pm in Columbia

As we step into a new year, there is no better time to make a fresh start — not just in our outer habits, but in the very depths of our mind. Buddhist teachings reveal that the suffering and difficulties we experience arise from negative karma accumulated in the past, and that this karma can be purified. This is one of the most hopeful and liberating insights in all of Buddha’s teachings.

In this special New Year teaching, Gen Tabkay will explore the four opponent powers — the Buddhist method for purifying negativity — and guide us in practical meditations for cleansing the mind and beginning the new year with a lighter, freer heart.

Everyone welcome; no prior experience necessary.
