Sunday, December 24

10:30am – 11:45am

T’was the night before Christmas and all through the house, everyone wants peace but do we know how to bring it about? In this special service, Mark Gould will share how to bring it about.

Join us as we look at the essence of world peace – a peaceful, loving mind – and the power of prayer to make that happen. Although we may think otherwise, prayer is a special activity that helps us grow our good qualities.

The great Buddhist Master, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche explains:

“Our job is to pray for world peace – anytime, anywhere. With compassion, we make dedications and pray to develop and maintain inner and outer peace and harmony. We know there are so many dangers and problems arising right now, war and terrible things. We try to repair, to pacify, to cause all dangers and obstacles to cease through our prayers. With compassion, we pray every day for world peace, that the people of this world will experience peaceful and happy minds and meaningful lives. Through our pure intention, the power of our prayers, and particularly through receiving blessings from enlightened beings, results will come, definitely. Our job is to pray.”

–given at the opening of the US Kadampa World Peace Temple, October 2006

This FREE event includes a teaching, Prayers for World Peace, and a guided meditation. Everyone welcome.
