What happens at a class?
This half-day course includes guided meditations, teachings, Q&A, and prayers for the deceased. Chairs are provided and their are some meditation cushions for those who wish to sit on the floor. Everyone is welcome.
Session One: Death and Dying
We are alive, therefore we will die. This is the simplest, most obvious truth of our existence, yet very few of us have really come to terms with this fact. Buddha gave extensive teachings on the death process, and on how to use an awareness of our death to live a more full and meaningful life.
Session Two: Powa Teachings
The practice of Powa is a method whereby we can transfer the consciousness of those who have recently died, or our own consciousness, to a pure land. Powa practice explains clearly how we can face our own death, and how we can help those who are dying. This is one of the kindest things we can do for ourself and for others.
Session Three: Powa Practice
We will engage in Powa Prayers for the recently deceased.
We will send you one email per week, and we won’t share your email address.
